Minister of Defense Nakatani had a conversation with French President Macron

On May 30, DM Nakatani met with French President Macron at the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue and extended his will to further advance the bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges.

Defense Minister Nakatani met with U.S. Senators

Defense Minister Nakatani met with U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts and U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth on May 30. They reaffirmed the importance of further elevating the Japan-U.S. Alliance while closely working on strategic regional challenges facing Japan and the U.S. In addition, Minister Nakatani appreciated the continued support for the Alliance from the U.S. Congress.

Japan-Singapore Defense Ministerial Meeting

On May 31, Defense Minister Nakatani held a meeting with Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Mr. Chan Chun Sing. He congratulated Minister Chan on his inauguration, and they concurred to further promote defense cooperation between Japan and Singapore.

Defense Minister Nakatani held a meeting with French Minister of the Armed Forces Lecornu at the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue on May 31. They discussed defense cooperation/exchanges and regional affairs and concurred to enhance the collaboration including in defense equipment/technology areas and multilateral frameworks.
