In this issue, we will take a closer look at the Submarine Rescue Ship “Chiyoda”.

Equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as a hyperbaric chamber, a deep submergence rescue vehicle (DSRV) and a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), its deep sea search and rescue capabilities have improved. It is also equipped with 2 operating tables and 10 nursing beds to provide medical support such as by treating injured people in case of a disaster relief operation. The ship also has living facilities for accommodating 22 female crew members.
