OH-1 Observation Helicopter

In this edition, we will take a closer look at the OH-1 Observation Helicopter.

The OH-1 Observation Helicopter is a helicopter made entirely in Japan and its production began in 1992 to replace the OH-6D. The OH-1 features a hingeless system on its main rotor, glass fiber composite rotor blades, tandem seating, and dual hydraulic and flight control systems. Its detection abilities are provided by the equipped infrared sensors, color monitors, and laser distance meters. It can conduct detection and identification operations day and night. The versatile OH-1 will continue to fill a variety of roles.
