"Children’s Kasumigaseki Study Tour" at the MOD 2019

On August 7th and 8th, the MOD held a kids’ group tour at the Ministry. It is part of "Children’s Kasumigaseki Study Tour," an annual summer event organized by Japanese ministries and agencies, and the event provides a good opportunity for children to visit Japanese governmental organizations and learn about their activities.

Approx. 200 elementary and junior high school students and their guardians participated in this two-day tour. The contents of the tour included defense lectures, observing defense equipment and a training of the Honor Guard, experiencing flag signaling, and visiting the Minister’s office.
When visiting the Minister’s office, the Minister explained the missions of the MOD/JSDF to the participants, and the participants asked the Minister the most enjoyable experience in working as the Minister, his favorite food, etc.
Every year, many people join this tour from distant regions. Some commented that they had a fruitful time by visiting the MOD.
