The Replenishment Support Special Measures Law will expire at 2400 (JST) on January 15, 2010. Therefore, the Minister of Defense issued an order to the Commander of the Self-Defense Fleet of the MSDF to terminate the replenishment support activities in the Indian Ocean at 2400 (JST) on January 15, 2010 and return to Japan the dispatched unit, which had been formed for the implementation of the replenishment support activities.

Regarding the replenishment support activities in accordance with the Replenishment Support Special Measures Law, the implementation plan was decided on by the Cabinet and the implementation guidelines were approved by the Prime Minister yesterday. On the basis of these decisions, at 12:00 p.m. today, the Defense Minister issued an order to the Commander of the Self-Defense Fleet of the MSDF to organize a dispatch unit to engage in and implement supply support activities.
