Since 2013, the MOD/SDF have been implementing a Capacity Building Project with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) in the field of PKO (Civil Engineering). Through this project, human resource development has been promoted in a phased manner, including training for PKO deployment personnel, training for surveying instructors, and education aimed at establishing specialized expert teams for UN PKO missions.

This year, instructors from the GSDF provided lectures and practical trainings to 20 crane operation personnel of the RCAF to enhance their operational capabilities.

In addition, a WPS seminar was conducted as part of this project. MOD/SDF introduced their initiatives and engaged in in-depth discussions with participants on the importance of incorporating a gender perspective.

MOD/SDF will continue to promote defense cooperation and exchanges between Japan and Cambodia, and will work together to contribute not only to regional peace and stability but also to the improvement of the global security environment.
