Defense Minister Nakatani visited Indonesia from January 5 to January 7, 2025.
Events are as follows.
1. Site visits to military related facilities
Minister Nakatani visited some of the military related facilities in Indonesia, such as the Indonesian Army Strategic Reserve Command and the Military Sealift Command.
2. Japan-Indonesia Defense Ministerial Meeting
Minister Nakatani held a Defense Ministerial Meeting with Minister Sjafrie. The two Ministsers concurred to continue strengthening Japan-Indonesia defense cooperation and exchanges.
3. Courtesy Call on President Prabowo
Minister Nakatani paid a courtesy call on President Prabowo. During the meeting, Minister Nakatani stated that he intends to further enhance Japan-Indonesia defense cooperation.
4. Floral Tribute to the Kalibata Heroes' Cemetery
Minister Nakatani paid a floral tribute to the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery which is a burial site for Indonesia’s national heroes from the independence era.
5. Reception with the graduates of the National Defense Academy
Minister Nakatani had a reception with the Indonesian graduates of the National Defense Academy.
