Defense Minister Kihara Minoru visited Cambodia on August 5.

1 Flower Offering
Minister Kihara offered flowers at a cenotaph for Mr. Nakata, a late UNV who died during an UN Peace Keeping Operation in Cambodia.
2 Courtesy Call on Senate President Hun Sen
Minister Kihara paid a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Minister Kihara emphasized to further strengthen cooperation with Cambodia including in the security area, based on the elevated “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” of Japan and Cambodia.
3 Japan-Cambodia Defense Ministers’ Meeting
Defense Minister Kihara held a Defense Ministers’ Meeting with Minister Tea Seiha. Both Ministers concurred to further strengthen Japan-Cambodia defense cooperation and exchanges.
4 Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Hun Manet
Minister Kishida paid a courtesy call on Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Minister Kihara stated that he would like to further strengthen Japan-Cambodia defense cooperation, based on the discussions with Minister Tea Seiha earlier that day.
5 Flower Offering
Minister Kihara offered flowers at a cenotaph for Superintendent Takata, a late civilian police for UNTAC (United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia) who died during an UN Peace Keeping Operation in Cambodia.
