On March 24, Defense Minister Kishi held a telephone conference with U.S. Defense Secretary Austin.
The Ministers concurred that a series of ballistic missile launches by North Korea were violation of relevant UNSCRs and agreed upon the seriousness of the ICBM-class launch the day before in particular for both countries.
The Ministers confirmed to strengthen the Alliance capabilities to deter and respond, and that advancing close trilateral cooperation among Japan, the United States, and the Republic of Korea is important.
