The JMOD held a seminar on HA/DR onboard JS "Izumo (DDH183)", which was visiting Subic Bay, the Philippines, as part of its defense cooperation program with AFP with the objective of exchanging JSDF experience in disaster response, such as disaster relief function of JS "Izumo", utilization of search and rescue equipment and joint disaster relief operation. The seminar contributed to the strengthening of defense cooperation between Japan and the Philippines.
The seminar was also attended by US military officers and JICA officials with HA/DR expertise as observers.
