At the request of the Mongolian Government, the Ministry of Defense undertook a capacity building program in the field of military medicine. Through this program, Japan hopes to improve the Mongolian military's medical capability and contribute to increasing stability in the region. The in-country seminar explored the demands placed on military medical support and included a presentation on the role of the GSDF medical team following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
