 As part of the Ministry of Defense's capacity building assistance program, Japan invited officers from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defense to visit Japan.
The Kazakhstan representatives took part in briefings on medical activities of JSDF, visited medical facilities and associated equipments and observed technical demonstrations on surgeries in the field.
 The purpose of this project was to assist Kazakhstan improve its military medicine capability through learning from the JSDF's experience in managing military medicine and associated technologies.
 This was the first time Japan had implemented a capacity building program with Kazakhstan.
