The MOD/JGSDF has been providing civil engineering training and technical support, in areas such as road construction in response to a request from the Cambodian Army to enhance its ability to contribute to UN Peacekeeping Operations since 2012. These programs have been conducted in both Cambodia and Japan. Many of the trainees who joined previous programs are using these skills in Cambodia and overseas such as in UN PKO activities or road maintenance work in Cambodia.
During this year, the JMOD/GSDF provided training to improve the road maintenance skills of 32 personnel from the Royal Cambodian Army Force (RCAF) who will be dispatched to Lebanon.
