On October 5th, State Minister of Defense Odawara received a courtesy call from U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and his delegation. State Minister Odawara welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for Senator Bennet’s continued understanding and support for the Japan‑U.S. Alliance. In addition, he conveyed that, with regard to the robbery-murder case that occurred in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, the Government of Japan strongly protests this incident and is strongly urging the U.S. side to provide full cooperation with the investigation, enforce strict discipline among U.S. military personnel, take thorough measures to prevent the recurrence of incidents and accidents, and ensure appropriate consideration is given to the bereaved family of the victim.
