Japan-Brazil Military to Military (MM) Dialogue

On September 1, the 1st Japan-Brazil Military to Military (MM) Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan.
The Japanese delegation was led by Ms. HAYASHI Mitsuko, Director General for International Affairs, Ministy of Defense, and the Brazilian delegation was led by General Alcio Alves Almeida e Costa, Chief of Strategic Affairs, Joint General Staff of the Armed Forces. They exchanged views on a variety of issues, including regional security and defense policy, and deepened discussions on defense cooperation and exchanges.
In addition, as an outcome of the Dialogue, the two sides identified future areas of cooperation in such fields as service-to-service exchanges, educational and research exchanges, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR), and defense equipment and technology cooperation, and signed a Joint Record.
