DM Koizumi was debriefed from CAPT Takahashi who had been dispatched to Bahrain as Japanese SNR (Senior National Representative) to CMF/LNO (Liaison Officer) to USNAVCENT on Aug 31.
He conducted liaison and coordination with military counterparts from various countries, contributing to counter-piracy operations, while effectively carrying out information-gathering activities concerning developments in the Middle East. In particular, despite rising tensions across the Middle East, including Iran, since late February this year, he flexibly carried out information-gathering activities and played a vital role by reporting timely information to Japan.DM Koizumi praised his outstanding achievements and expressed high expectations for his future endeavors.
MOD/JSDF will continue to contribute to peace and stability of the international community through the dispatch of SDF personnel and other related efforts.
