From 31 August to 4 September, JMOD/JSDF delivered a Capacity Building Project on Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) disposal for the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Japan. During the program, participants visited UXO-related units of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, including the GSDF Logistic Support School, the 101st Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit, and the MSDF Yokosuka EOD Unit. They also visited private companies and organizations engaged in UXO-related activities, gaining valuable insights into Japan’s approach and efforts in the field of UXO disposal. The program contributed to enhancing the RSIPF's EOD capability and also promoted mutual understanding and strengthened bilateral defense cooperation between Japan and the Solomon Islands.
