1. Visit to the Indian Navy’s Western Naval Command (Mumbai)
On Aug 19, DM Koizumi visited the Indian Navy’s Western Command in Mumbai. After discussions with Admiral Swaminathan, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Vice Admiral Vatsayan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, he toured INS Chennai.
2. Flower Offering at the National War Memorial
On August 20, DM Koizumi visited the National War Memorial in New Delhi, which was built to honor and commemorate Indian Armed Force’s members who fought in the wars of independence, and offered flowers.
3. Japan-India Defense Ministerial Meeting
On Aug 20, DM Koizumi held a meeting with Defence Minister Singh of India. They signed a MOA on maritime security cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening defense cooperation to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.

4. Meeting with Prime Minister Modi
On August 20, DM Koizumi paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Japan-India defense cooperation.
