PVM Wakabayashi attended the departure ceremony hosted by the Cabinet Office for two JSDF personnel being dispatched to UNMISS as the 18th HQ staff on August 25. He gave encouragement to the intelligence and engineering staff officers.
The Intelligence Staff Officer is responsible for analyzing information on the security situation and other developments throughout South Sudan and maintaining relevant databases, while the Engineering Staff Officer manages and oversees various infrastructure development projects implemented by UNMISS. Both functions are indispensable to the mission and serve as key pillars of UNMISS's operations.
MOD/JSDF will continue to contribute to peace and stability in Africa and the international community as a whole through the ongoing dispatch of SDF personnel.
