On July 3*, 2026, GIGO and “Edgewing” concluded a contract which covers the period through the end of 2027.

The conclusion of this contract is expected to contribute to solidifying the programme foundation and therefore to further enhancing its efficiency and accelerating its development.

The three partner nations—Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy—continue to work in close partnership across government and industry to advance the efficient development of the next-generation fighter jet.
