On April 28, Minister of Defense Koizumi received a courtesy call from General Kevin B. Schneider, Commander, U.S. Pacific Air Forces. Minister Koizumi welcomed General Schneider’s visit to Japan, and they discussed a wide range of topics, including bilateral defense cooperation, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. Minister Koizumi also welcomed the arrival of a dedicated 5th Air Force Commander in Yokota Air Base this March, and they reaffirmed the robust Alliance, underpinned by close communication between Japan and the United States at all levels.
