On March 11, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Yoshida visited Camp Foster and Kadena Air Base located in Okinawa. During the visit, he met with Brig. Gen. Ryan M. Hoyle, Deputy Commanding General of III Marine Expeditionary Force, Col. Karin R. Fitzgerald, Deputy Commander of Marine Corps Installations Pacific, and Brig. Gen. John Gallemore, Commander of 18th Wing.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yoshida expressed his deep respect and appreciation for the U. S. forces, who devote themselves to demanding missions and training on a daily basis to ensure the peace and stability of Japan and the region. He also exchanged views on strengthening the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, as well as on harmonizing these efforts with the local community.
