On March 6th, 2026, Ms. Radmila Sekerinska, Deputy Secretary General of NATO visited Naval Air Facility Atsugi and observed aircraft including P-1, SH-60K, C-130R, together with Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Yoshida. They also visited Yamato Technology Center, Synspective’s small SAR satellite manufacturing facility, and received a briefing from the company.
Ms. Sekerinska’s visit to Naval Air Facility Atsugi and Synspective Yamato Technology Center promoted NATO’s understanding of our national defense policy and defense industry and contributed to the development of Japan-NATO defense cooperation and exchanges. Japan Ministry of Defense and Self-Defense Forces will continue to work closely with NATO based on the recognition that security of Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific is inseparable.
