- On January 26, the 19th Japan-NATO High-Level Consultations was held in Brussels, Belgium.
- The Ministry of Defense delegation was led by Mr. YOSHINO Koji, Director General for International Affairs (NATO and Europe), and the NATO delegation was headed by Ambassador Boris Ruge, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy. Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs also attended from the Japanese side.
- During the consultations, the two sides confirmed that the security of Euro‑Atlantic and Indo‑Pacific is inseparable, and that they will continue to cooperate into strengthening the relationship between Japan-NATO as well as between NATO and the Indo-Pacific Four (IP4). The two sides also discussed regional situations in East Asia and Europe.
