From 1 to 19 December, MOD/SDF conducted the 1st Capacity-Building Project on Military Band to enhance the performance skills and fundamental music theory knowledge of band personnel of the Djibouti Armed Forces (DAF). Personnel from JGSDF Central Band, Eastern Army Band, 2nd Band, and 8th Band were dispatched to the DAF Band garrison at Camp Sheikh Osman. They provided training in solfège (including sight-singing, music reading, and ear training), instruction on performance techniques for various instruments, and ensemble guidance. These activities contributed to strengthening the band’s capabilities.
Through this project, Japan will continue to strengthen cooperation between the defense authorities of Japan and Djibouti.
