On December 4, 2025, commencing at 16:35 for approximately 35 minutes, Defense Minister Koizumi held a meeting with Minister of National Defence of Hellenic Republic, Mr. Dendias at Tokyo.
- At the outset, Defense Minister Koizumi welcomed Defence Minister Dendias’s visit to Japan. Defence Minister Dendias conveyed his appreciation to Defense Minister Koizumi for hosting the visit. They welcomed the realization of the first ever Japan-Greece Defense Ministerial Meeting in the bilateral history.
- Defense Minister Koizumi expressed his gratitude for the great support from the Greek government when Japan dispatched Self-Defense Force transport aircraft to Greece and stayed there for a long term in preparation for possible sudden changes in the situation after the evacuation of Japanese nationals in Israel in 2023 and in Lebanon in 2024.
- They discussed regional affairs and bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges and concurred to further promote defense cooperation and exchanges in various areas.
- They concurred to continue to work closely together towards further deepening Japan-Greece relationship.
