Recipient 6 personnel from Sri Lanka Air Force

JMOD/JASDF invited 6 Sri Lanka Air Force personnel specializing in Air Rescue and Aeromedical Evacuation to Japan and conducted the 1st Japan-Sri Lanka capacity building project on Air Rescue and Aeromedical Evacuation.

This project aims to enhance the knowledge and skills required particularly at the operational level through the sharing of expertise on air rescue and aeromedical evacuation from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, thereby contributing to the stable operation of the Sri Lanka Air Force and the smooth implementation of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of natural disasters.

The participants visited Komaki Air Base home to Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron and Air Rescue Wing Training Squadron, as well as Hamamatsu Air Base, which is home to Hamamatsu Air Rescue Squadron, where they received training on operations conducted by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and related equipment.

Additionally, the Sri Lanka Air Force provided a briefing on its Aeromedical Evacuation operations. Members of both Forces engaged in discussions to foster mutual understanding and share expertise.

JMOD/JSDF remain committed to strengthening bilateral relations between Japan and Sri Lanka.
