On November 18, State Minister of Defense Miyazaki received a courtesy call from Admiral Daryl Caudle, Chief of Naval Operations of the United States Navy. State Minister Miyazaki welcomed Admiral Caudle, and they discussed a wide range of topics such as the regional security environment. They confirmed that stability in the Indo-Pacific region constitutes a key strategic challenge and reaffirmed their intention to maintain close cooperation to enhance the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
