On October 24, Minister of Defense Koizumi received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. George Glass, the Ambassador of the United States to Japan. During the meeting, Ambassador Glass, a longtime acquaintance of Minister Koizumi, offered his congratulations on the Minister’s appointment. The two engaged in a cordial conversation. They also discussed a wide range of key issues related to alliance cooperation and affirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan–U.S. Alliance through continued close coordination.
