From September 1 to 5, the JMOD/JGSDF invited 20 personnel from Philippine Army to Japan and implemented a Japan - Philippines Capacity Building Project on HA/DR.
As wrap-up of a 4-year project, JGSDF and the Philippine Army’s 525th Engineer Battalion jointly conducted activities simulating search and rescue operations for disaster victims.
Through these efforts, JMOD/JGSDF supported the enhancement of the Philippine Army’s disaster response capabilities and successfully completed the four-year project.
In this project, Women, Peace and Security (WPS) was actively incorporated by delivering presentations to introduce respective WPS initiatives, sharing the latest good practices and challenges, and engaging in joint field exercise reflecting gender perspectives.
JMOD will continue to strengthen defense cooperation with the Philippines.
