PVM Kobayashi attended the departure ceremony hosted by the Cabinet Office for two JSDF personnel being dispatched to UNMISS as the 17th HQ staff on August 22. He gave encouragement to the intelligence and engineering staff officers.
The mission assigned to the two personnel departing this time is of great importance within UNMISS. Regarding the intelligence staff officer, the Cabinet decision in June added the task of analyzing information related to the situation across various regions of South Sudan. As for the engineering staff officer, the United Nations has placed great expectations on the management and supervision of various infrastructure development projects conducted by UNMISS.
MOD/JSDF remains committed to peace and stability in Africa and the international community through the dispatch of SDF personnel and other related efforts.
