On August 27, at 10:00, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Defense Wakamiya met with Mr. Zagy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Defence Singapore, and exchanged opinions for approximately 60 minutes. The summary of the meeting is as follows:
- Senior Advisor Wakamiya expressed his gratitude to the visit and stated that, with the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Singapore diplomatic relations next year in 2026, he hopes to further strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, including defense equipment and technology cooperation. In response, SMS for Defence Zagy expressed his willingness to collaborate in areas of mutual interest, such as defense equipment and technology.
- They exchanged views on defense cooperation and exchanges to date between the defense authorities and reaffirmed the importance of continuing collaboration through bilateral and multilateral frameworks to contribute to regional peace and stability.
