From 18th August to 19th September, instructors dispatched from the JGSDF Central Band provided training to members of the PNGDF Military Band. The training focused on improving performance skills, developing instructor skills, and educating military band organization.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Papua New Guinea’s independence. In celebration, the JGSDF instructors’ team provided performance guidance to members of the PNGDF Military Band participating in various commemorative events. Additionally, they performed jointly with the PNGDF Military Band at Military Music Festival and the 50th Independence Anniversary Concert hosted by Papua New Guinea.

The purpose of this capacity building program is to enable the PNGDF Military Band to independently and sustainably maintain and develop its structure. Through such efforts, Japan will further strengthen cooperation with Papua New Guinea.
