Between 7-16 July, JMOD/JSDF conducted the Japan-ASEAN Cybersecurity Cooperation Program to 18 cybersecurity personnel from ASEAN defense authorities.
In the culmination of a program that has been conducted four times since 2022, a comprehensive exercise was held during the activity, to further enhance cybersecurity incident response capabilities. Seminars on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and international cyber law were also conducted, contributing to the improvement of cybersecurity capabilities in ASEAN countries.
In alignment with the previous project, observers from Bangladesh, the Maldives, Mongolia, and Sri Lanka participated once again. This iteration also saw the inclusion of Pacific Island nations—Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Tonga— as observers for the first time, bringing the total to a record 16 countries and 29 participants. Together with representatives from ASEAN member states, participants engaged in collaborative learning and deepened mutual friendships.
