Commissioner Ishikawa’s Participation in the NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum (NSDIF25)

On June 24, 2025, Mr. ISHIKAWA Takeshi, Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency (ATLA) Commissioner, participated in the NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum (NSDIF25).

At this forum, senior officials from NATO and various countries, as well as executives from the defense industry, gathered to actively discuss strengthening the defense industrial bases under the severe security environment. Invited as one of the IP4 countries, Japan was represented by Commissioner Ishikawa and Corporate Executive, Group Senior Vice President, Defense & Space Systems ARAI Masahiko from Mitsubishi Electric.

Commissioner Ishikawa welcomed the recent agreement to launch the Defense Equipment and Industrial Dialogue between Japan and NATO. Seizing this opportunity, he exchanged views with senior officials from various countries and explained Japan’s policies, including the importance of defense equipment cooperation between Japan and NATO and efforts toward standardization.

Notes: About the NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum (NSDIF25)
The NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum (NSDIF25) was co-hosted by NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), Ministry of Defence of the Netherlands, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, and the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers. One government representative and one defense industry representative from each country attended. This is the second time that the Forum has been held at a NATO Summit, following the previous one in Washington, D.C., July 2024 (co-hosted by NATO and U.S. Chamber of Commerce).
