On June 12, 2025, Defense Nakatani received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Dileita Mohamed Dileita, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Djibouti, at the Ministry of Defense.

At the outset, Defense Minister Nakatani noted that this year marks the 14th anniversary of the establishment of the SDF facility in Djibouti, and expressed his deep appreciation for the longstanding support by Djibouti to the activities of the SDF at the base. He also extended a heartfelt welcome on his visit to Japan.

Both sides affirmed their shared intention to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchanges, including efforts in counter-piracy operations.
