On June 11, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Kobayashi received a farewell courtesy call from Major General David B. Womack, Commanding General, U.S. Army Japan, and awarded “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star” for his contribution to the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Kobayashi honored achievements General Womack made during his tenure and showed expectation on continuous close ties between Japan Self-Defense Forces and U.S. Army Japan to strengthen Japan-U.S. Alliance under the severe security environment.
