On May 14, 2025, Defense Minister Nakatani received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Sa’ar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, at the Ministry of Defense.
At the outset, Defense Minister Nakatani welcomed Minister Sa’ar’s visit to Japan andreiterated his continued hope for the swift release of all hostages still held in Gaza and their reunion with their families. . Also, Defense Minister Nakatani conveyed his deep concern regarding the humanitarian situation in the Middle East, including that of in Gaza, and expressed strong regret over the continued loss of civilian lives.
In addition, both sides exchanged views on the regional situations surrounding their respective countries.
Lastly, Defense Minister Nakatani expressed his expectations for Israel’s successful participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
