On February 20, Defense Minister Nakatani received a courtesy call by Rear Admiral AL RAHBI, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman. Overview of the meeting is as follows;
At the outset of the meeting, Minister Nakatani welcomed Rear Admiral Al Rahbi’s visit to Japan. Minister Nakatani expressed his gratitude to Oman for its cooperation with JSDF’s counter piracy operation in the Gulf of Aden, off the coast of Somalia, and welcomed the development of defense cooperation between both countries. In response, Rear Admiral Al Rahbi expressed his expectation for both countries to deepen cooperation in the defense field. Both sides concurred that they will further promote defense cooperation and exchanges between Japan and Oman.
