MOD/SDF conducted a capacity building program in air rescue with the SLAF in order to improve the SLAF’s ability to plan and implement air rescue operations at sea.

As a final year of the program, we observed the progress of the table-top exercise (TTX) conducted by the SLAF as based on the “Search and Rescue Manual” jointly complied by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) and the SLAF. In addition, JASDF experts evaluated the TTX and provided advice.

MOD/SDF will continue to promote defense cooperation with Sri Lanka and together, further cooperate towards international peace and stability.
