1 Wreath-laying at to the Cemetery of Heroes
Minister Nakatani laid a wreath at the Heroes' Cemetery, where national heroes and war casualties of World War II are buried.
2 Site visits to military related facilities
Minister Nakatani visited some of the military related facilities in the Philippines, including the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief units supported by Japan and the Wallace Air Station, where Japanese-made air surveillance radar systems are deployed.
3 Japan-Philippines Defense Ministerial Meeting
Minister Nakatani held a Defense Ministerial Meeting with Defense Secretary Teodoro. The two Ministers concurred to continue strengthening Japan-Philippines defense cooperation and exchanges.
4 Wreath-laying at the José Rizal Monument
Minister Nakatani visited the statue of José Rizal, a national hero who played a significant role in the Philippine independence movement, and laid a wreath in honor of him.
5 Courtesy Call on President Marcos
Minister Nakatani paid a courtesy call on President Marcos. Both parties agreed to further strengthen the cooperation between Japan and the Philippines as "strategic partners," particularly in enhancing defense cooperation and coordination.
