On Thursday, November 21 2024, Minister of Defense Nakatani held a meeting with Kim Yong-hyun, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea at the 11th ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus).
The two ministers exchanged views on the regional situation and expressed serious concerns about North Korea’s launching ballistic missiles and the growing military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. They also confirmed that Japan and the ROK will continue to cooperate closely.
The two Ministers exchanged views on Japan-ROK defense cooperation, and concurred on accelerating coordination toward the early realization of Minister of Defense's visit to the ROK.
