On Friday, November 22 2024, Minister of Defense Nakatani held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India at the 11th ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus).
Both ministers confirmed that cooperation and collaboration between Japan and India have been strengthening steadily. Moreover, they exchanged their views on bilateral cooperation and exchanges.
Minister Nakatani welcomed that Memorandum of Implementation for transfer of Unified Complex Radio Antenna (UNICORN) was signed, as a fruit of bilateral cooperation.
The two ministers affirmed the importance of multilateral defense cooperation and exchanges in the security environment which is growing its severeness, and concurred on working together widely with countries which share fundamental values such as democracy and the rule of law.
The two ministers concurred on developing defense cooperation and exchanges to continue deepening further bilateral relationship, and sending messages that unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force or coercion cannot be tolerated.
