Japan Ministry of Defense
Based on the Article 6-1, 6-2 and 6-4 of the Drone Act (Act No. 9 of 2016), the Ministry of Defense issued a notification of the designation of defense-related facilities, areas of the designated defense-related facilities or areas, and surrounding areas of the designated defense-related facilities. After 10 days as a certain period of notification to the public (after November 1, 2024), drone flights will be basically prohibited over and within the surrounding areas of the defense-related facilities. When one intends to fly drones, the person is required to follow prescribed procedures including obtaining consent from the administrators of the defense-related facilities.
