On October 19, 2024, for about 25 minutes from 16:50, Minister of Defense Nakatani held a meeting with H.E. Boris Pistorius, Federal Minister of Defense of Germany in Naples.
- Minister Nakatani expressed his appreciation to hold the meeting for the first time with Minister Pistorius. Minister Nakatani also mentioned his expectation to further promote of Japan-Germany defense cooperation and exchanges with the practical use of Japan-Germany ACSA which entered into force this July, and Minister Pistorius shared the same view.
- In addition, Minister Nakatani stated his appreciation on the deployment of German military assets to the Indo-Pacific region this summer. Minister Pistorius responded that Germany will continue its engagement to the Indo-Pacific region and further enhance the Japan-Germany defense cooperation and exchanges.
- Moreover, both Ministers concurred on further promoting and cooperating in the fields of cyber, space and defense equipment and technology between Japan and Germany.
