On September 11 2024, State Minister of Defense Oniki paid a courtesy call on Mr. Kim Yong-hyun, Minister of National Defense while his visit to Republic of Korea to participate in Seoul Defense Dialogue.
State Minister Oniki expressed his congratulations on inauguration of Minister of National Defense, and gratitude for hosting Seoul Defense Dialogue to Minister Kim.
They had a discussion on Japan-ROK defense cooperation and Japan-ROK-U.S. defense cooperation, reaffirmed the importance of Japan-ROK defense cooperation and Japan-ROK-U.S. defense cooperation considering the current security environment, and concurred on enhancing Japan-ROK defense cooperation and Japan-ROK-U.S. defense cooperation.
