Program Outline

Instructors from the GSDF 42nd Infantry Regiment of the Western Army shared knowledge and insights with the 525th Engineer Combat Battalion, Philippine Army on earthquake disaster response as well as collaboration with relevant stakeholders as part of the Japan-Philippines HA/DR Capacity Building Project.

Through the project, participants from Japan and the Philippines learned from one another and enhanced their HA/DR capabilities.

In addition, the Director for International Cooperation on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and the GSDF Chief of Women Peace and Security Promotion Office participated to a WPS forum as part of the project.
They delivered presentations on WPS promotion efforts in MOD/SDF. and exchanged insights and experience with participants from the Philippines.

Through this project, Japan continues to promote defense cooperation and exchanges with Philippines and further strengthens bilateral relations.
