Recipient 8 military and police officers from Pacific Island Countries

JMOD/JMSDF conducted the Ship Rider Cooperation Program on maritime security with participants from Pacific Island Countries. On board of JS Izumo, participants exchanged views on a variety of topics including international maritime law, observed exercises on the ship, and delivered a presentation on respective county’s perspective on maritime security.

After arriving Japan from Guam, participants joined the in-country programs such as visiting JMSDF base in Atsugi, and participating to a Women, Peace and Security (WPS) seminar at JMOD. The entire program contributed to maintaining and strengthening Free and Open Indo-Pacific.

* This program was conducted in conjunction with the Japan-ASEAN and Timor-Leste Ship Rider Cooperation Program.
