From 15 to 21 May, personnel from the JSDF Central Hospital and the Sapporo Hospital were dispatched to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where they provided guidance on a command post exercise and a field training exercise for a mass casualty admission plan in the event of a natural disaster, such as an earthquake. The exercise was conducted by the Central Military Hospital of the Mongolian Armed Forces (CMH-MAF.)
This activity was the culmination of a broader capacity building project aimed at enhancing the CMH MAF’s disaster response capabilities. As an outcome, this activity has enabled the CMH MAF to independently conduct an exercise similar to the JSDF Central Hospital’s annual “Mass Casualties Response Exercise.”
JMOD will continue to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Japan and Mongolia.
