From 13 May to 8 June, the JMOD/JMSDF conducted a capacity building activity in underwater unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance with the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Through the activities, JMSDF personnel conveyed specialized knowledge on underwater UXO clearance in open water settings. They also provided training on methods for detonating fuses, as well as installing mock explosives on a bomb model.
